22, 2008 (Columbia, SC) The first Zone 33 Rotary
Leadership Institute event of the 2008-2009 year was held
August 22 at South University in Columbia, SC.
By all accounts it was a rousing success.
Almost 100 Rotarians from five districts engaged in
lively discussions on a variety of topics relating to
Rotary and leadership.
Typical comments from the students described the day as
“enlightening,” “enjoyable,” “very
informative,” “great session,” “lots of
information shared,” and “very impressive.”
At the end of the day nine were presented with their
RLI pins identifying them as graduates of the program.
Kudos to Elizabeth Smith, District 7770 RLI Chair, who
served as Facilities Chair and organized the event, and to
the 14 facilitators who “made it happen” in the
sessions. Also,
thanks to South University, and the great facilities they
provided for the event.
